Hi, I’m Nicole!
I’m a former elementary school teacher and lifelong artist who has always loved making children laugh. My artistic journey began early in life, inspired by my dad, a talented watercolor artist who passed down not only his paintbrushes, but also his passion for creativity. Over the years, I’ve explored a wide range of mediums from watercolor, gouache, and acrylics to digital illustration.
I have a bachelors of science degree and taught 2nd and 4th grade before stepping away to focus on my growing family and my creative work. Over the years, I’ve been a successful entrepreneur, owning a stationery business, a monogramming company, and consulting in interior design work. My work as an author and illustrator is where my heart is happiest though.
My debut picture book, Harper Had the Hiccups, is full of joyful chaos, teamwork, and giggle-worthy moments (including a pooting hippo). It’s a story I wrote and illustrated to capture the belly-laughing magic that happens in classrooms, at bedtime, or anytime a little silly fun is needed.
I live with my husband, Steve, and we’re proud parents to two grown daughters, Natalie and Raegan, my biggest supporters and lifelong cheerleaders. Our mischievous dachshunds, keep me laughing and often sneak into my stories through their antics.
Please reach out if you have any interest in collaborating via book readings, author reviews, interviews, or anything else you can think of! Thanks for visiting my website.
